December and babies

Lately, I have been holding Paxton and thinking of sweet little baby Jesus. I can't even imagine the feelings Mary must have had holding a/the precious son of God. This is a time when we remember His birth and I can't help but think of how not-a-newborn our baby is. I am so grateful for the eternal plan of happiness and for the opportunity to have our own little baby boy. I love our Savior and I love our family.

As evidence that we do indeed have the above-referenced Paxton child, here are a few things of his that crack me up:

  • he booty-bounces to music. Especially anything that has maracas or drums
  • he won't take a pacifier (don't worry, we stopped trying a WHILE ago), but as soon as he can get within reach of a baby with a pacifier, he takes it! Today at church he was [lovingly] called a "pacifier thief"
  • he pulls up on anything. ANYTHING. Boxes, walls, his high chair, your legs
  • he claps but refuses to wave when prompted
  • he chases me around the house when he gets hungry
  • he chases daddy when he gets sleepy
  • he unceremoniously drops an object when something more interesting presents itself
  • after many hard booty landings, he now gets stuck when standing on something. And he is so grateful when you go help him down
  • he looks like an old man when you hold both his hands and try to help him take steps

  1. Paxton: please stop getting so big so fast. It is making me sad to miss it. Love, Aunt Leanne
