Christmas in July

Better late than never!! We enjoyed Christmas as a family this year. On the "Eve" we told the story of Jesus' birth, had dinner, opened a few presents, and put the kids down early (9 pm) - in my days, we stayed up until midnight to wish each other a Merry Christmas and played with our presents much after that! I felt like i was cheating on the Christmas spirit by having dinner at 7pm, leaving presents under the tree, and being IN bed at midnight! - I should also say that this was in Peru and that if my children read this while we are living anywhere ELSE in the world, we the parents are under no obligation to follow that tradition.

We woke up to more presents, facetime with family, and eventually we made our way out of the house for dinner with friends. A good time was had by all, but we missed family very  much!

And to complete the holidays, on New Years Eve we toasted with some Chilsung Cider, the Korean equivalent to Sprite and my favorite new drink when we first arrived. Chilsung Cider has a special spot in my heart.

Happy 2013!!

These next few pictures are mostly for our record: (1) our Christmas crafts this year, (2) our attempt at outdoorsy holiday cheer. The PX had run out of net lighting by the time we got there, so only one of our bushes got it; and (3) a family picture with the tree! albeit all the other decorations had been taken down.
